From our North American Lead Trainer Rebecca Llewellyn:
“Breathwork has ancient roots. The breath has been used in ceremony, healing, and initiation across nearly every earth-based tradition. When it is taught without that context, as a technique, a tool, and a method, but something essential is missing.
The Seven Directions Breathwork ® framework is rooted in that older wisdom and knowing. It does not appropriate a specific tradition, rather, it honours the Medicine that is present in many of the world's indigenous, nature based wisdom paths and offers breathwork within a framework of sacred orientation. It is held in right relationship to the earth, the elements, and the communities from which this wisdom comes.
This is why our training includes the Seven Grandfather Teachings, taught by Maya Dancing Wolf and hosts ceremonies and wisdom teachings from other faculty members working different traditions with intention. Ceremony, energetic hygiene, and cultural considerations are woven throughout, and you will learn when it is appropriate to use them and especially important, when it isn’t.
Our graduates don’t simply receive a certificate of completion, they receive a personal initiation of sorts!
