“Breath is the bridge between life and death”

Hello and welcome to Seven Directions® Breathwork. Your homecoming journey starts here!

Vision, values and purpose

You can discover more about us through our website, but the most important thing we want you to know is that we train breathwork facilitators who aspire to do more than just continually attempt to fix the individual trauma experiences so many of us have. If we are not simultaneously looking at global and systemic injustice and centering restorative practices in our work, we will forever be pouring water into a bucket with a hole in the bottom! In these rapidly changing times, we are now being called into a much greater experience than our own personal worldviews typically hold.

We recognise the energy and interconnectedness of everything on this Earth; the forests, the oceans, the rocks, the animals, the people, everything moves within the sacred geometry of life. When we remember who we are individually, we remember who we are collectively, and it becomes impossible to do harm to self, to others, and to the earth within. A conscious awareness of our own impact and influence. Our training invites ceremony and indigenous teachings as part of this remembrance.

Our Ethos

We are looking for students who are invested in understanding that healing must go beyond the personal and shift into the communal, social and cultural if we are to become real agents for change in these transformational times.

As we stand at the centre of this global change, our connection with body and breath has never been more important. Breath is our first Medicine! From the moment we take our first inhale to the moment we offer our last, it is the constant companion to all of our personal evolutionary stories, however those experiences are shaped by the world we are born into, and continue to be influenced by the world as it is. By making our work within Seven Directions® Breathwork very intentional, we align with the guiding principle of living in right relation with ourselves, each other and the Earth.

Through the training, we take our students on a deep personal inventory and excavation, of your own personality structure and world view. Understanding it is essential if we are to know how to widen our capacity to support others in the safe exploration of body, mind and spirit via the breath.

“At the heart of our school sits our intention to cultivate facilitators who steward lasting, embodied change for individuals, communities, and our Mother, the Earth.”

What we do

Breathwork is Medicine Work! Any somatic practice that creates a thorough and robust environment in which we can drop into our inner world, gives us the opportunity to create transformative, integrated change in our lives.

We teach conscious connected breathwork with modifications for those for whom CCB is not appropriate, and the use of somatic inquiry & intervention. This provides a rich, client led, individually responsive, and uniquely tailored experience which can be adapted to meet the needs of every person who comes into your practice.

We ask for high levels of integrity and professional ethics from our faculty team and our students in support of the provision of exemplary, ethical, grounded practice. Our program is trauma and consent informed, recognising that our lived experiences impact people across cultures and lands very differently.

We are not here to simply turn out more breathworkers - we are here to:

  • Restore the sacred in healing practices.

  • Challenge cultural and systemic harm through personal and global nervous system education, and breathwork accessibility.

  • Understand the relationship between the personal nervous system and the planetary nervous system.

  • Cultivate facilitators who act from deep presence, clarity, humility, and care.

  • Acknowledge and aspire to decolonise wellness practices.

  • Hold strong integrity and ethics in the world of breathwork certification and practice.

Seven Directions® provides Facilitator and Practitioner levels of training with extended mentoring, CPD and other opportunities available, offering 400+ hours of highly respected, extremely thorough training.

WE ARE INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED & PROFESSIONALLY CREDIBLE

Seven Directions® Breathwork Facilitator Training is accredited by the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance, the only international accrediting body specifically for breathwork training. In a field that is largely unregulated, this matters. GPBA accreditation is not easily granted and requires a minimum of 400+ hours of curriculum, structured supervision, and supervised client work embedded throughout, dedicated ethics training, and cultural competence integrated into the programme as standard. Seven Directions® Breathwork Training meets all of these criteria.

As a graduate, you are automatically eligible for an ethically compliant facilitator listing on the GPBA website, offering credentials that are recognised and trusted across the UK & Europe, North America, and internationally.

Please go to our training page for more info on upcoming dates and countries.

We are very proud to be an approved GPBA (Global Professional Breathwork Alliance) listed accredited school.

Seven Directions® Breathwork is also an organisational member of the IBF (International Breathwork Foundation) and Breathwork UK.

What is UNIQUE ABOUT seven directions® breathwork?

Our teachings are created with a commitment to the Sacred Circle as a healing path for humanity in these rapidly changing times where connection and community are perhaps more important than ever.

We see breathwork as a form of ‘soul retrieval’. By opening conscious awareness to the breath, we begin to cultivate an intentional relationship with it, and in doing so, we form a deeply humbling understanding of the foundational importance of recognising this connection between life and death, our breath.

Breath can be used to improve athletic performance, increase altitude adaptability, help us re-train our nervous systems, recover from chronic and acute illness, and access altered states of consciousness. Seven Directions® Breathwork, whilst understanding all of these aspects, primarily positions itself as a training in conscious connected, sometimes called circular breathing or CCB,.The training covers functional breathing because it's important to know what we are asking our clients to do and be able to skilfully answer important questions, and to be able to provide essential modifications for those for whom CCB is not recommended.

It’s time to come home to body and breath.

Train with us and become part of a new wave of facilitators dedicated to truly “being the change we wish to see” in this world.

We welcome your inquiry

Seven directions® Breathwork

our ethos

Through your time with us, our intention is to support your learning within an animist framework which acknowledges all things have energy. Ceremony and working the Seven Directions is worn through our program. We work with core shamanic principles & indigenous teachings delivered by original lineage holders, but you do not need to hold any interest at all in shamanism to train with us!

Our program starts from the fundamental premise of respect and reciprocity. We have become accustomed to taking from this Earth and our greatest desire is to give back; to each other and to the Earth.

We honour original land stewards on our Truth & Reconciliation Page, and we also operate a tithing program to give back some of our revenue.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

“Having completed three previous breathwork training programs, nothing compares to this course! I highly recommend it to anyone looking to invest in a training that is thorough, ethical and professional. The trauma informed course content covers everything there is to know about the science and mysticism of functional and therapeutic breathwork, how to support ourselves as responsible practitioners and how to plan and deliver breathwork sessions. I now feel confident, equipped and supported to be the practitioner my clients need.”

— Ruth John, Reset With Ruth, Corporate Wellbeing Practitioner.

“I *LOVE* Steph Magenta, primarily because she’s REAL. She turns up as her true authentic self and that’s a fierce, baddass warrior woman extraordinaire! She walks her talk and has endlessly reinvented herself as she continues to consciously evolve. I absolutely recommend her as I know she continues to seek new ways to do ‘peak human’. she delivers with experience, expertise, compassion & a wicked sense of humour.”
