Seven Directions Breathwork Facilitator Training: canada

Written by Brit McQuarrie:

I just returned from a phenomenal week with the second, but first official, North American cohort of Seven Directions® Breathwork.

Wow. Wow. Wow.

From the opening prayer on day one, to stepping into our first breath together that same evening, the week unfolded as a deeply healing, transformative, and expansive journey. A journey I will carry with me, not only as a facilitator, but as a human, a mother, and a student of life.

As I sit with everything that moved through me during that week, I feel there is one piece of writing I want to expand on:

Breath has a way of bringing so much to the surface, emotions both tender and fierce, and in this space, everything was welcomed. Every story, every tear, every wail of grief, every surge of rage, every breakthrough, every fear, every expression of joy, was held in a judgment-free, loving, compassionate community.

And here’s what struck me most: even with so many different people, from so many different walks of life, we were able to come into the same room and truly meet each other. To be seen. To be heard. To be embraced in our wholeness.

When people are doing their work, when they take responsibility for the quality of their life and their own experience, something significant shifts. When we/they look within ourselves, even in the uncomfortable moments, love naturally becomes the foundation. From that ground, differences and projections dissolve, what remains is respect. What remains is the gift of being met for exactly who you are.

And that, my friends, is Medicine.

Spaces like this can feel like such a rarity in the world right now, because the media would have us believe we are more divided than we truly are. We’re told everything is black and white, red versus blue, black versus white, man versus woman, this group versus that group. The narrative is one of separation and conflict, but what I witness, daily tells a very different story. It reminds me that the people doing this work, the people remembering their wholeness, their responsibility, their love, are not the minority, but the majority. There is so much light in this world, so much goodness.

Yes, there is darkness too. It tries to cloud the light, to smoke it out, but one cannot exist without the other. The rose cannot bloom without the thorn. The lotus cannot rise without the mud. We need both shadow and light.

So the question becomes: What wolf are you feeding?

Are you feeding the wolf of division, fear, and judgment, or the wolf of courage, respect, humility, and love? Because whichever one we feed, we give back to the collective consciousness.

And this is why the work we do matters so deeply. When we show up for ourselves, when we do the inner work, whether it’s tending the grief, facing the rage, or opening to joy, we’re not only shifting our own lives, we’re shifting the generations to come. We’re even shifting the generations who came before us. Science now shows that our inner healing reverberates backwards through time, depending on who you ask!

So please, don’t stop. Keep showing up. Keep remembering. Keep choosing the wolf of courage, respect, humility, and love. Because you are not the minority, you are part of a great wave of awakening love.

Deep gratitude,

Brit
