In-Person Practitioner Training

MAYBE A SUBLIBE????

Why train with us in person?

Seven Directions Breathwork is proud to announce the launch of a new in-person facilitator training. Held in a small group cohort (maximum 10 students) over a 12-month cycle of the year, we will gather in person on five evenly spaced occasions. In the time between our gatherings you will be held in a closed group on our online portal where you will access all of our supplementary material, supporting training information, and keep up to date with our live online group calls

It will be essential to complete all of our in person weekends and online seminars to complete your certification

Ready to learn more?

This 12-month Seven Directions® Breathwork practitioner training, held in person in Glastonbury, the heart chakra of the planet will be taught by our founder, Steph Magenta, and supported by one or more of our experienced mentorship team.

We are intentionally keeping our group size to 10 students or less so that we can cultivate a deep and trusting relational space very much alive between us as we move through this powerful journey, connecting with the seasons of the year, and with the essence of the seven directions we work with.

There will one one in-person orientation day where we get to meet one another and begin to build our group bond, followed by four weekends to practice the material we will work with online, culminating with a four-day residential graduation to close our ‘prayer’ and finalise our journey together.

OUR WHY

From Steph: Over the years I have learnt that one of the most difficult things that we can do as human beings is allow ourselves to truly meet another human being in their essence; including their strength and their vulnerability. Whilst I am immensely proud of our online hybrid programmes, I've also had a burning desire to do more in-person work, cultivating a different kind of intimacy and bringing in some of the ways I walk as an elder and a medicine woman in this particular season of my life

When I first experienced breathwork, and on almost every occasion since, I have learned as much from the people breathing beside me as I did from the teaching itself.  We find resonance in other humans, we see ourselves reflected in our multi-dimensional aspects, some of which can be uncomfortable or challenging to look at, and some which bring a great sense of lightness, joy and mutual recognition - a realisation that we are not perhaps as alone as we sometimes think we are in this world.

My great desire at this moment is to bring some of that wisdom, some of that coaching, and a lot of my embodied experience into a learning environment where we can truly be present to one another in the most profound ways possible

WHY IN PERSON, WHY ONLINE?

“You cannot download presence! You practice it with people until you understand fully what it means to embody the very essence of it.”

Seven Directions® Breathwork has been a hybrid school from the start, and it will stay one. Accessibility is one of our core issues and having online options ensures that students all across the world, with different levels of access to financial, and vocational education resources, can  train with us From wherever they are and without impacting the environment in too great a way. This new in-person training sits alongside those current offers.

One thing we know is that breath is life and breath is relational.

Our nervous systems are reading each other all the time; through tone of voice, through posture, through cultural essence and social location and more.

On a screen, some of those signals are lost until we meet in person at the end of each cohort. When journeying together in person we will see the colour change in someone’s face, hear the breath catch and shorten, feel the moment a group finds cohesion and harmony as much as recognise fast when there is discord.

As breathwork facilitators, these are the cues we work with for the rest of our lives both in and out of our practice. They are the cues of our relational spaces in life!

WHY SMALL GROUP SIZE?

Each cohort is limited to ten people, and we’ve made a clear choice about how the work is held within a group of this size.

With ten people maximum, every single person who signs up to the training is committing to bring themselves into full visibility, and we are committing to supporting you within that process. We will get to know one another well. You will get to know yourself more deeply than you already do and you will come to know your own personal Medicine in this work. The application will be fairly rigorous because it's going to be very important that the people who sign up for this journey have done a significant amount of personal growth and inner work before joining us.

“You cannot expect to go to the depths if you haven't learned how to swim first!”

Everything we already teach in our online hybrid programme will be practised in person. Consent, touch, ethics, co-regulation, pendulation & titration, scope of practice, inclusivity, effective interventions and more become something you have experienced in your own body in the room.

A group who have breathed through grief, anger, vulnerability, fear, joy, achievement, and laughter together, carry that into their practice afterwards.

Our graduates consistently name community as one of the most important parts of their training. Welcome to this new version of the community that we will build through the in-person training.

You also receive the full Seven Directions® online curriculum: the same body of work every student in the school studies, on the same platform, in the same form.

Each weekend, we:

  • Revisit the online teachings from the modules we will study together in our supporting calls

  • Practice applying them directly, as facilitator and as breather, with Steph & her supporting team.

  • Meet real responses as they arise (activation, release, tears, stillness) and learn how to respond to each with skill and steadiness

  • Practice framing, sequencing and closing sessions, and receive compassionate, supportive feedback in the moment rather than weeks later

  • Practice consent-based touch and hands-on support, with clear agreements and supervision

  • Leave time to integrate, so the work can settle before you go home

Something that takes weeks to understand on a screen can become clear in a single afternoon of embodied in person practice. Not every time of course but often enough that it can truly deepens your personal experience of how you facilitate.

THE SHAPE OF THE YEAR

A year shaped by the Seven Directions

The training will move around the Sun Wheel of a full year. We begin together in the East, travel through South, West, North, Above and Below across one opening day and four weekends, and close in the Centre at our 4 day graduation. Each gathering carries one or two Direction/s and the body of teachings that belongs to it.

Between gatherings, we will host a monthly online seminar calls, which will keep the group connected and Offer integration space to process all that you are learning. When we come together for our in person meetings, that time is kept for practice, live feedback, and group experiential teachings.

The four weekends run from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon and are non-residential: you return home, or to your own accommodation, each evening. The graduation is residential, four days living, practising and completing the year together.
